Nov 10th- Eley Kishimoto

‘Eley Kishimoto are surface decorators... fundamentally striving to make the world a prettier place’.

Combining the use of graphics and prints, Eley Kishimoto avoids trends and instead creates pieces that are simple yet creative, with fashion as a platform to let the label take off.

The design duo of Mark Eley and Wakoko Kishimoto hail from Wales and Japan respectively. With Kishimoto graduating from Central St Martin’s in Fashion and Print, there is a clear British/ Japanese influence over their collections. Before the launch of Eley Kishimoto, the pair worked with industry giants such as Hussein Chalayan, Nicole Farhi and Edina Ronnay, gaining essential fashion house experience.

Since the beginning, the brand has extended from womenswear to footwear, hosiery, sunglasses, homeware, and artist and gallery collaborations. With constant reports of a bleak and grey climate ahead, Eley Kishimoto adds some light into your life and colour into your wardrobe. Go from same-old to stand-out with something from ‘the patron saints of print’.

Nov 1st- Henrik Vibskov Interview

Graduating from Central St Martins in 2001, Henrik Vibskov is one of Paris Men’s Fashion Week’s most exciting and inventive designers. Born in Jutland, Denmark, Vibskov is now based in the capital of his home country, Copenhagen. His shows are ‘a multitude of twisted yet tantalising universes created in relation to each collection’, allowing Vibskov to showcase his love for fashion, music and the visual arts.

From Kanye West to the Arctic Monkeys, Vibskov’s designs have been seen on some of the most influential artists of our time. Cutting-edge style combined with quality craftsmanship makes the label unique, stylish, yet ultimately wearable time and time again.

Exclusively stocked worldwide, Henrik Vibskov is available to buy at Paper Scissor Stone in-store only.

.....An interview with Henrik Vibskov himself.....

1. We hear you have as much of a passion for music as fashion? Yep, been playing drums since the age of 10.
2. What brought you from Copenhagen to Central St Martins? A girl.
3. Why did you not keep the fashion capital London as your base, why Copenhagen? The bank account was empty, and my mum's cooking.
4. Tell us about how The Solar Donkey Experiment came to life (collection for S/S 2010)? We constantly store and collect bits and pieces that we work from. In this way the collection is accumulated into a final expression. One item might inspire the use or discovery of an other and create small cross connections, but overall we try to invent a language by engaging diverse or contrasting objects.
The thought of communicating and analogue communication is also very present in the concept of the installation and presentation of the collection. We used umbrellas because the communication aspect is more old schools, like fire or smoke rings on top of a mountain. That’s the donkey part, the slowness, the analogue. It almost looks like we’re trying to communicate with the rest of the world with some kind of mechanical mobile installation.
5. Which has been your favourite collection to date? Always the latest...
6. Which designers do you like to wear? Bernnard W and Ute Ploire.
7. What do you enjoy the most about working in the fashion industry? The fastness.
8. What do you see us all wearing in 2020? Something green.
9. What is your favourite fashion genre of the past? Why?  The indie scene in the beginning of the 90's in UK.
10. What is on your christmas list this year? Green plants.
