Atypyk is the moniker of French design duo, Jean Sebastien Ides and Ivan Duval, whose playful yet edgy line of products never cease to amuse. Ever since the late ’90s, this crazy French duo, have been throwing out countless irreverent, challenging, innovative and often outrageously funny products, concepts and projects under the name of Atypyk.
Atypyk have a boundless desire to shock and entertain and an ever flowing raft of ideas to accompany their passion for innovation, not too dissimilar to designers such as Phillipe Starck and Frank Tjepkema whose products border on the fanciful side of design. Often poking fun at modern society and culture, Atypyk create provocative pieces such as their gun ruler (”carry a gun at school”, reads the description) and Jesus cross doorstop alongside more throw away humour such as their microphone shaped shower sponge. Atypyk have a remarkable knack for designing common sense, yet totally inessential products that put a smile on your face.
